Script: Change the rest of script to not rely on Deref<str> for DOMString (#39481)
This is part of the future work of implementing LazyDOMString as
outlined in issue #39479.

We use str() method or direct implementations on DOMString for these
methods. We also change some types.
This is independent of https://github.com/servo/servo/pull/39480

Signed-off-by: Narfinger Narfinger@users.noreply.github.com

Testing: This is essentially just renaming a method and a type and
should not change functionality.

Combine some access to the thread local variable for script thread. (#38752)
This combines some access to the thread local variable for script
thread.

- We introduce a new UserInteractingScriptGuard which on drop handles
the resetting of was_interacting to the previous value. Sometimes
throughout the code `ScriptThread::is_user_interacting` was reset to the
previous value while sometimes just set to false. This should
remove this footgun.
- This also reduces the amount of thread local access for
MutationObservers and task queue.

Testing: WPT tests should cover this.
Fixes: This addresses part of
https://github.com/servo/servo/issues/37969 but there is probably still
stuff to be done.

Replace Hash Algorithm in HashMap/Set with FxHashMap/Set for simple types (#39166)
FxHash is faster than FnvHash and SipHash for simple types up to at
least 64 bytes. The cryptographic guarantees are not needed for any
types changed here because they are simple ids.
This changes the types in script and net crates.
In a future PR we will change the remaining Fnv to be also Fx unless
there is a reason to keep them as Fnv.

Testing: Should not change functionality but unit test and wpt will find
it.

script: Integrate animated image updates into ScriptThread event loop (#38941)
Instead of manually triggering `ScriptThread::update_the_rendering`,
have animated images trigger rendering updates via the `ScriptThread`
event loop. This should result in fewer calls to
`ScriptThread::update_the_rendering`.

Testing: This should not change behavior and is thus covered by existing
tests.

script: Measure heap usage of various ignored fields (#38791)
These changes allow using MallocSizeOf/`#[conditional_malloc_size_of]`
on WebIDL callback values, and then fix a grab bag of places in the
script crate that previously ignored those values. There are also some
commits removing ignored fields that involved Arc/Rc that are not WebIDL
callbacks, since they are now easier to support with the
`#[conditional_malloc_size_of]` attribute.

Testing: Manual testing on about:memory for servo.org.

script: Set correct introductionType values in more places (#38550)
to use the [SpiderMonkey Debugger
API](https://firefox-source-docs.mozilla.org/js/Debugger/) as the single
source of truth about scripts and their sources for devtools purposes
(servo/servo#38334), we need to keep track of whether scripts come from

Move CSP code into one entrypoint (#37604)
This refactoring moves various CSP-related methods away from GlobalScope
and Document into a dedicated entrypoint. It also reduces the amount of
imports of the CSP crate, so that types are consolidated into this one
entrypoint. That way, we control how CSP code interacts with the script
crate.

For reviewing purposes, I split up the refactoring into separate
distinct commits that all move 1 method(group) into the new file.

Testing: no change in behavior, only a build improvement + code cleanup

script: Allow reflows that do not produce display lists (#37186)
This change has two parts which depend on each other:

1. An early exit in the layout process, which allows for skipping
display list construction entirely when nothing would change.
2. A simplification and unification of the way that "fake" animation
frames are triggered. Now this happens on an entire ScriptThread at
once and is based on whether or not any Pipeline triggered a display
   list update.

Animations are never canceled in the compositor when the Pipeline
isn't updating, instead the fake animation frame is triggered far
enough in the future that an unexpected compositor tick will cancel
it. This could happen, for instance, if some other Pipeline in some
other ScriptThread produced a new display list for a tick. This makes
   everything simpler about these ticks.

The goal is that in a future change the ScriptThread-based animation
ticks will be made more generic so that they can throttle the number of
"update the rendering" calls triggered by script.

This should make Servo do a lot less work when moving the cursor over a
page. Before it would constantly produce new display lists.

Fixes: #17029.
Testing: This should not cause any web observable changes. The fact that
all WPT tests keep passing is the test for this change.

Use a VecDeque to manage timers (#37080)
Profiling speedometer 2.1 on a quad core Intel N100, we spend quite some
time in Vec::insert when adding new timers. This is mostly because one
of the tests creates a large number of timers (> 10k).

Switching to a VecDeque solves that and gets a ~2% score improvement on
that device.

Support CSP report-only header (#36623)
This turned out to be a full rabbit hole. The new header
is parsed in the new `parse_csp_list_from_metadata` which
sets `disposition` to `report.

I was testing this with
`script-src-report-only-policy-works-with-external-hash-policy.html`
which was blocking the script incorrectly. Turns out that there
were multiple bugs in the CSP library, as well as a missing
check in `fetch` to report violations.

Additionally, in several locations we were manually reporting csp
violations, instead of the new `global.report_csp_violations`. As
a result of that, they would double report, since the report-only
header would be appended as a policy and now would report twice.

Now, all callsides use `global.report_csp_violations`. As a nice
side-effect, I added the code to set source file information,
since that was already present for the `eval` check, but nowhere
else.

api: Flatten and simplify Servo preferences (#34966)
Flatten and simplify Servo's preferences code. In addition, have both
preferences and options passed in as arguments to `Servo::new()` and
make sure not to use the globally set preferences in `servoshell` (as
much as possible now).

Instead of a complex procedural macro to generate preferences, just
expose a very simple derive macro that adds string based getters and
setters.

- All command-line parsing is moved to servoshell.
- There is no longer the concept of a missing preference.
- Preferences no longer have to be part of the resources bundle because
they now have reasonable default values.
- servoshell specific preferences are no longer part of the preferences
  exposed by the Servo API.

script: Unsilence all main thread TaskQueue errors (#34849)
No longer hide errors while queueing tasks on the main thread. This
requires creating two types of `TaskSource`s: one for the main thread

task queue errors.

script: Move TimerListener creation to OneShotTimers (#34825)
Before each `OneShotTimers` would have a `TimerListener` for its
lifetime, holding the timer `TaskSource`. The issue with this is that
the `TaskSource` for dedicated workers keeps the main thread object
alive, so as long as the `OneShotTimers` alive (until the worker thread
exists), the main thread object would never be garbage collected.

This change makes the creation of the listener on-demand, avoiding the
long-lived handle to the main thread object and slightly simplifying
`OneShotTimers` at the expense of some more operations when scheduling a
timer.

script: Make timers per-process (#34581)
Before all timers were managed by the Constellation process, meaning
that they had to trigger IPC calls to be scheduled and fired. Currently,
timers are only used in the `ScriptThread`, so it makes sense that they
are per-process.

This change restores the timer thread functionality that existed before
avoided entirely. Completion is done using a callback that is sent to
the timer thread similarly to how fetch is done. This allows reusing the
existing task queue without making any new channels.

d1715918f0 Set private reference for classic script
Web developers can use `Dynamic Import` in a classic script; thus, we
need to save the script's private reference so that we can reuse it when
we're going to fetch a dynamic import module for a classic script.

Besides, because it's possible to use different executing context for a
dynamic import module (like `dynamic-import/string-compilation-other-document.html` WPT test),
we can't initialize a module owner at the timing of `SetScriptPrivate`;
thus, if the private module script doesn't hold an owner, we'll use a
DynamicImport owner for it.
