3a56954069 Bug 1322945 - Change skip_root to unstyled_children_only and use StyleNewChildren in more places. r=heycam
I noticed that our current behavior in ContentRangeInserted is incorrect. Unlike
ContentInserted (where this code lived originally), ContentRangeInserted takes a
start and end element. I'm not sure if we ever take that path for new content that
needs style, but it seemed sketchy. And generally, it seems nice to just always
style new content the same way (though we still need to style NAC by the subtree
root, since it hasn't been attached to the parent yet).

For situations where there is indeed only one unstyled child, the traversal
overhead should be neglible, since we special-case the single-element in
parallel.rs to avoid calling into rayon.

Being more explicit about what we want here also makes us more robust against
the other handful of callpaths that can take us into
nsCSSFrameConstructor::{ContentRangeInserted,ContentAppended}. Currently we
can call StyleNewSubtree on an already-styled element via RecreateFramesForContent,
which triggers an assertion in the servo traversal.

75e4c16bc7 Bug 1322945 - Remove the requirement that the parent styles must be current to style a subtree. r=heycam
Sometimes Gecko eagerly styles things without processing pending restyles first. In
general we'd like to avoid this, but there can be good reasons (for example, needing
to construct a frame for some small piece of newly-added content in order to do something
specific with that frame, but not wanting to flush all of layout). Just handle it.

851568f59e Bug 1322945 - Only assert against _restyling_ roots with later siblings. r=heycam
The problem is with restyles, so we should leave the door open on
initial styling if that ends up making sense.

92d380c399 Auto merge of #14470 - gterzian:implement_scroll_transactions, r=mbrubeck
Implement scroll transactions

<!-- Please describe your changes on the following line: -->
@glennw Here is a first pass at faking Start scroll events by way of 'transactions', as suggested by @mstange at https://github.com/servo/webrender/pull/599#issuecomment-263323105

Since I still don't have a Linux environment available for testing(and my Mac doesn't have enough resources to run a VM at the moment), I tested this with both https://github.com/servo/webrender/pull/599 and https://github.com/servo/webrender/pull/600 on a Mac by:

* disabling start and end events by removing the content of these two functions: https://github.com/servo/servo/blob/master/components/compositing/compositor.rs#L1080 and https://github.com/servo/servo/blob/master/components/compositing/compositor.rs#L1093

* Setting `CAN_OVERSCROLL` to false for Mac OS in Webrender https://github.com/servo/webrender/blob/master/webrender/src/frame.rs#L29

* This PR also requires a `./mach update-cargo -a`

The desired behavior of both Webrender PR's, based on my manual testing, now also works when there are no end or start scroll events provided by the os. The scroll transactions do not affect normal scrolling on Mac OS, and both PR still work as before on that platform.

Both PR in Webrender need some re-basing and cleaning up, as does this one, and I first wanted to put this proposal forward, and also ask if someone has the time to do some testing in a real Linux environment...

Remove legacy items from .gitignore

The gitignore items being removed were added in f403129 for temporary files generated by `make` for cocoa integration. However, cocoa integration was later moved into its own repo [servo/cocoa-rs](https://github.com/servo/cocoa-rs), and thus the items are no longer necessary.

872ec89a9c Auto merge of #14244 - upsuper:buildtime-bindgen, r=emilio
Use build script to generate binding files

<!-- Please describe your changes on the following line: -->
This is a WIP patch to make rust-bindgen a build time dependency of style component for stylo. This should make things more automatic. I convert majority of `regen.py` to `build_gecko.rs`.

It currently doesn't work on Windows, because of servo/rust-bindgen#271 (it works when I fix the generated file manually, though). I haven't tested other platforms.

It would break servo's CI for geckolib, because:
1. it needs libclang (which is probably easy to solve)
2. it needs `MOZ_OBJDIR` to be passed in so that it can generate bindings

@Manishearth @emilio Do you agree with this change? Do you have suggestion for the issues above?

b9a8ccd775 Auto merge of #14436 - bholley:granular_restyle, r=emilio
Make restyle tracking more granular

The primary idea of this patch is to ditch the rigid enum of Previous/Current
styles, and replace it with a series of indicators for the various types of
work that needs to be performed (expanding snapshots, rematching, recascading,
and damage processing). This loses us a little bit of sanity checking (since
the up-to-date-ness of our style is no longer baked into the type system), but
gives us a lot more flexibility that we'll need going forward (especially when
we separate matching from cascading). We also eliminate get_styling_mode in
favor of a method on the traversal.

This patch does a few other things as ridealongs:
* Temporarily eliminates the handling for transfering ownership of styles to the
frame. We'll need this again at some point, but for now it's causing too much
  complexity for a half-implemented feature.
* Ditches TRestyleDamage, which is no longer necessary post-crate-merge, and is
a constant source of compilation failures from either needing to be imported
or being unnecessarily imported (which varies between gecko and servo).
* Expands Snapshots for the traversal root, which was missing before.
* Fixes up the skip_root stuff to avoid visiting the skipped root.
* Unifies parallel traversal and avoids spawning for a single work item.
* Adds an explicit pre_traverse step do any pre-processing and determine whether
we need to traverse at all.

4cb3404c09 Auto merge of #13845 - birryree:package-under-target-profile-dirs, r=aneeshusa
Part of #13551 - Create packages under release/debug directories as appropriate

r? @aneeshusa

This change implements fixes for #13551 for Linux and MacOS targets.

`/python/servo/package_commands.py` was modified so that:
- On MacOS, it creates all intermediate packaging directories like `dmg`, `brew`, and `brew-tmp` under `target/(release|debug)`, rather than in `target` directly.
- On MacOS, all packaging artifacts (`.dmg`, brew `.tar.gz`) are packaged under `target/(release|debug)`, rather than in `target` directly.
- On Linux, the resulting `tar.gz` Servo package is placed under `target/(release|debug)`, rather than in `target`.
- Also did some extra cleanup around path parsing in the MacOS packaging code, to use `os.path` methods rather than straight `'/'` parsing with `split` and `join` where it was applicable.

`/etc/ci/upload_nightly.sh` was modified to:
- Look for artifacts in `target/release` for `mac`, `macbrew`, and `linux` platforms, rather than just `target/`.
