691bff86b6 Auto merge of #19651 - pyfisch:background-placement, r=emilio
Unify background placement code

Merges the implementations for background-image placement
from gradients and images. Add missing parts and fix bugs.

Now supported are the CSS properties:

* background-attachment (except for local value, see #19650)
* background-clip
* background-origin
* background-position-x/y
* background-repeat
* background-size

It should be noted that backgrounds are not clipped to
rounded border corners.
(This was done before but worked only in simple cases)
See: #19649

This solves the following issues:
closes #19626
closes #16657
closes #19482 (examples from http://lea.verou.me/css3patterns/ are rendered perfectly but the round border is completely ignored now)
closes #19577

- `./mach build -d` does not report any errors
- `./mach test-tidy` does not report any errors

I enabled a few tests with the first commit but I have written about a dozen manual tests I will try to turn into ref tests either before or after this patch lands.

5937f62352 Wait as late as possible to assign ClipIds
This will allow Servo to create ClipScrollNodes later during display
list construction, which will be necessary once rounded rectangles
are removed from the LocalClip structure. Instead of keeping track
of the ClipId of each ClipScrollNode, we keep track of its index in an
array of ClipScrollNodes. This will allow us to access them without a
hash lookup.

4506f0d30c Replace all uses of the heapsize crate with malloc_size_of.
Servo currently uses `heapsize`, but Stylo/Gecko use `malloc_size_of`.
`malloc_size_of` is better -- it handles various cases that `heapsize` does not
-- so this patch changes Servo to use `malloc_size_of`.

This patch makes the following changes to the `malloc_size_of` crate.

- Adds `MallocSizeOf` trait implementations for numerous types, some built-in
  (e.g. `VecDeque`), some external and Servo-only (e.g. `string_cache`).

- Makes `enclosing_size_of_op` optional, because vanilla jemalloc doesn't
  support that operation.

- For `HashSet`/`HashMap`, falls back to a computed estimate when
  `enclosing_size_of_op` isn't available.

- Adds an extern "C" `malloc_size_of` function that does the actual heap
  measurement; this is based on the same functions from the `heapsize` crate.

This patch makes the following changes elsewhere.

- Converts all the uses of `heapsize` to instead use `malloc_size_of`.

- Disables the "heapsize"/"heap_size" feature for the external crates that
  provide it.

- Removes the `HeapSizeOf` implementation from `hashglobe`.

- Adds `ignore` annotations to a few `Rc`/`Arc`, because `malloc_size_of`
  doesn't derive those types, unlike `heapsize`.

b5d51dd263 Switch to using WebRender hit testing
This trades quite a bit of complicated code in Servo for few more
messages and a significant performance improvement. In particular,
WebRender can search the entire display list at once instead of
ping-ponging down the pipeline tree. This allows us to send mouse
events to the correct pipeline immediately.

daf638bc3f Fix fixed position items with parents with CSS clips
In order to properly handle CSS clipping, we need to keep track of what
the different kinds of clips that we have. On one hand, clipping due to
overflow rules should respect the containing block hierarchy, while CSS
clipping should respect the flow tree hierarchy. In order to represent
the complexity of items that are scrolled via one clip/scroll frame and
clipped by another we keep track of that status with a
ClipAndScrollInfo.

9fd2df5c09 Properly handle scroll offsets in hit testing
Scroll roots are no longer nested containers holding items, so instead
we need to track the offsets of each, carefully handling fixed position
items and stacking contexts that create new reference frames.
Additionally, we remove the complexity of the pre-computed page scroll
offset, instead opting to send script scrolls to the layout task in
order to more quickly have a ScrollState there that matches the
script's idea of the scroll world.

Fixes #16405.

3f1ae64255 Auto merge of #16666 - pyfisch:gradients, r=emilio
Improvements to gradients.

This is a collection of commits improving the rendering of linear and radial gradients by making them conform more closely to the spec.

All commits are are independent and should work without the others.

These commits address the following issues:
* a956e3fd52 resolves #3908 but contains also some other necessary changes to `convert_gradient_stops`. The updated function has a few more copys but should be more correct. Maybe @pcwalton wants to comment since he has originally written the code.
* b230be8aaf partially solves #16638. (Partially because `border-image-outset` is not implemented. This is an older issue for border gradients: #15894.

To quickly catch regressions and see changes to gradients I have created [a set of twelve manual testcases](https://pyfisch.org/stuff/testcases-gradients.html) and placed them in a single file. Attached are two files. One shows how the gradients were rendered before the PR the other one with the changes applied.

![testcases-old](https://cloud.githubusercontent.com/assets/2781017/25580052/b433278e-2e7d-11e7-9396-500fef12eee0.png)
